Meet Our Guest: Christy Nockels
As a worship leader for over 25 years, Christy Nockels would tell you that her heart is to simply lead others to connect and communicate with the living God. Christy began writing music and singing in the church at a young age, as the daughter of a pastor in Oklahoma. She met musician, Nathan Nockels, in 1993 at the Christian Artist Seminar in Estes Park, Colorado and the two married in 1995.
The couple would form the Christian music duo, Watermark, touring nationwide and recording five acclaimed albums, including seven number one radio singles from 1998 to 2005, before laying down their Watermark journey for the sake of their family. Christy and Nathan were also among those invited by Louie and Shelley Giglio to be a part of the very first Passion Conference in Austin, TX, in 1997, which flourished into a fruitful twenty years of the couple songwriting and leading for the Passion Movement. Christy’s voice and heart can be heard on songs like, “Waiting Here For You,” as well as her songwriting featured on church anthems like, “Lord, I Need You,” and “Healing is in Your Hands.”
Christy now records for Keeper’s Branch Records, the couple’s independent record label, where they’ve enjoyed releasing fan-favorites like Be Held; Lullabies for the Beloved. Christy also launched a podcast in 2016 called, “The Glorious in the Mundane,” which is intentionally focused on helping women in any season of life, find the wonder and awe of God in the moments of the here and now.
Christy and Nathan live in Franklin, TN where they love to gather around the farm table and even make music with their three children, Noah, Elliana and Annie Rose. They also love to spend time making their home, affectionally called Keeper’s Branch, a place of rest for all who gather there.
FAQ’s
Who is this for?
This is for the woman who wants to be refreshed, inspired, and meet new friends. Whether you come with a pal or by yourself, you’ll have new buddies by the end of this. It’s designed to be fun or everyone.
Can I bring my family or kids?
We love families and kids, but we have limited space so we ask that only nursing babes or children under a year join you. Our age minimum for the trip otherwise is 16 years-old, so you can bring a gal who is older than that!
How do transportation and housing work?
The closest airport is Boston Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts. We will travel around the north shore and Essex County during the weekend. While attendees are able to book anywhere they’d like for overnight accommodations, we will provide a list of recommended places as well as connect participants in a Facebook group so they can potentially carpool or share a place to stay! You’ll want a car, whether sharing with friends or other attendees. Uber is not recommended. We suggest you book SOON because accommodations in Massachusetts fill up fast. Reach out to us at cheerheron@gmail.com if you have any questions!
What should I wear?
Fall in New England is about layers. Things will be pretty casual so no need for formalwear. Will it be crisp? That’s likely. Will it be beautiful out? You bet. Is anything possible? Entirely. Hats, gloves, good boots and warm socks are a win. Also, we’ll give you a full packing list well before you arrive!
Is the event virtual?
Sadly, (and happily!) no, it is not. This is for gathering and being together in person.
Can I get a refund?
We do provide a full refund (minus processing fees from Eventbrite) up until 30 days before the event. (September 19 at 12pm ET)
